Owners and helpers

Who can do what. The owner runs billing, settings, and people. Helpers run jobs, customers, and parts.

A business has one owner: the person who created it. Everyone the owner adds is a helper. On the People screen, helpers show as Employee.

#What everyone can do

Owners and helpers share the same business. Everyone on it can:

• See and work every job and customer.
• Create jobs, change statuses, and add photos.
• Set prices, record payments, mark jobs paid, and send invoices and texts.
• Snap receipts, scan parts out, and add stock.
• See the business's billing status.
• Use Help & Feedback, and change their own photo, screen, and language.

#Only the owner can

• Add and remove people. See Add a helper.
• Change business settings, connect QuickBooks, and download spreadsheets. See Business settings.
• Subscribe, change the plan, or manage the card. See Plans and prices.

A helper who opens Billing sees "Ask the business owner to subscribe." when the business isn't subscribed.

#How many people

Your plan sets how many people can be in your business, the owner included:

Invites you've sent but nobody has used yet count toward that number. Need more room? Change your plan.

#One business per email

Each email address can be on one business at a time. To work on two businesses, use two emails. See Work for another business.
