Weekly and monthly visits
Set a job to repeat, mark each visit with Complete visit or Skip visit, bill per visit, and the next date rolls forward on its own.
Some work comes back on a schedule: a weekly mow, a pool every two weeks, a monthly filter change. In Barton Forge that's one job that repeats. It keeps the same job number for as long as it runs.
Set a job to repeat
- On the new job form, or after tapping Edit on the job's page, find Visit.
- Pick Weekly, Every 2 weeks, or Monthly.
- Set Next visit to the next day you'll go.
- Tap Create job or Save.
The job shows on Soon in the week before its next visit, and on Today when the day comes. The night before, you can text a Visit reminder from Soon. With two or more people, later visits show on the Week too.
Mark a visit
When the job is open and repeats, its page shows the next visit with two buttons:
- Complete visit: you made the visit.
- Skip visit: you didn't. Type what happened in the box first if you want, like "Rain" or "Gate locked". The note is optional.
Either way, the next visit moves forward by one week, two weeks, or one month, and the visit goes into the Visits list.
If the job has a Checklist, Complete visit clears its checks for the next visit. Skip visit leaves them. See Checklist.
Price per visit
On a job that repeats, tap Edit and the price box says Price per visit. Type what one visit costs, like 40, and tap Save.
A new repeating job owes nothing until the first visit: the job shows No balance due. Each Complete visit adds that price to what the customer owes. Skip visit adds nothing. After three visits at $40, the job shows Balance due $120 and it's on the Unpaid list, even while the job keeps running.
When the customer pays, tap Mark as paid. That covers every visit so far. The next Complete visit starts a new balance. Got part of it? Use Record payment. Wrong payment? Undo last payment takes back only the latest one, so earlier months stay paid. See Price, Unpaid, and Paid.
The Price text on a repeating job says the price a visit and what the customer owes right now, like Right now you owe $120.
Visits list
The Visits list shows every visit, newest first, with the date, Completed or Skipped, the price of a completed visit, and any note. It shows 10 at a time.
Fix a wrong tap
There's no undo. If you tapped the wrong button:
- Tap Edit, change Next visit to the right day, and tap Save, or
- Record another visit.
Pause or stop the loop
- Stop for good: tap Edit and set the status to Complete. The visit buttons go away. The visit history stays.
- Turn it back into a one-time job: tap Edit, set Visit to One time, and tap Save.
- Start again later: tap Edit, set the status back to Scheduled, and give it a Next visit.
One-time jobs with a day
A one-time job can have a Day too. It's optional. It isn't a calendar, just the day you plan to go. A one-time job with a Day shows on Today when that day comes, and stays there while it's overdue until you change the day or close the job.
