Snap a receipt

Photograph the supply-house receipt. Barton Forge reads the lines for you, then you check them and save.

Bought parts at the supply house? Snap the receipt, and every line goes into stock in one save. Go to Parts, then Receipts.

Take the picture

With the camera:

  1. Tap Take photo.
  2. Fill the frame with the receipt. Lay it flat, in good light.
  3. Tap Capture. It's on the right, in the same row as Zoom Out and Light, so your right thumb reaches it without scrolling.

From a photo you already took:

  1. Tap Pick a photo. It sits next to Take photo.
  2. Pick the picture of the receipt.

While it reads

The receipt shows as a card under To review. It says Reading while Barton Forge reads the lines, then Looking up while it matches barcodes to real products. This takes a few seconds to a minute.

You don't have to wait. You can capture the next receipt while this one reads.

When it's ready

The card shows the vendor, how many lines it found, and a Not saved yet tag. Nothing is in stock until you save it. Now:

  • Tap Review to check the lines, then Done. See Review and save a receipt.
  • Tap Save to inventory on the card. This is the step that puts it in stock.

After saving, the card says Saved to inventory. Tap View details to see it, or find it later in History.

Recent receipts

Under the buttons, Recent receipts shows your last few saved receipts: vendor, the day it was entered, and the total. Tap one to open it. Tap See all for every receipt, on History.

On a computer, the buttons are on the left, To review is in the middle, and Recent receipts is a table on the right.

Card statuses

Status Means
Reading Reading the photo.
Looking up Matching barcodes to products.
Not saved yet Read and ready. Check it, then tap Save to inventory.
Saved In stock and in History.
Failed Couldn't read it. Try again with a flatter, brighter photo.

The × on a card clears it. On a card that isn't saved, that throws the receipt away and nothing goes into stock. On a saved card, it just clears the card. The receipt stays in History.
