Use: scan parts out
Point the camera at a barcode, confirm how many, and on hand drops. Your last few uses show below, so you can check them or pick a job.
Use is how parts leave your stock. Go to Parts, then Use.
Scan a part
- Tap Scan barcode. The first time, your phone asks to use the camera. Allow it.
- Fill the white box with the barcode. Hold the phone a few inches back.
- The part shows right under the camera, with its name and how many are On hand. On a computer it shows under This scan, which appears on the left after your first scan.
- Set the quantity with the − and + buttons. It starts at 1.
- Tap the Use button. It shows the number, like Use 2.
You'll see "Used 2. On hand is now 5. Ready for the next scan." The camera stays open, so point it at the next barcode.
To hang the part on a job, tap Assign to job before you tap Use. See Parts used on a job.
Type a code instead
No camera, or a beat-up label? Tap Type barcode, type the numbers under the barcode into Barcode, and tap Look up. On a computer the barcode box is always on the left, under Scan barcode.
The camera and the barcode box take turns on a phone. Tap Cancel under the camera to get Type barcode back.
Recent uses
Under the buttons, Recent uses shows your last few uses, newest first: the part, how many, the date, and the job.
- Tap the job to open it.
- A use with No job has a Assign to job button. Tap it and choose the job. You can do this once; after that the job stays.
- Tap See all for every use, on History under Used.
The list updates as soon as you tap Use, so you can see the scan went through.
Camera buttons
While the camera is open, you may see:
- Zoom Out / Zoom In: the camera starts zoomed in so small labels read better. Zoom out for big boxes.
- Light: turns on your phone's flashlight, for a dark van or basement.
Buttons only show when your phone supports them. See Camera and barcode tips.
